About

Hey there! My name is Srinath Obla and I’m an engineer. I currently live in Rochester, New York and am pursuing a master’s degree in Computer Science at the Rochester Institute of Technology. My broad interests lie in the fields of computer vision, machine learning, and data analysis – These fields are changing the landscape of our world and solving hard problems at an impressive rate.

I’m currently working on my master’s thesis where I’m enabling deep neural networks to efficiently process encrypted information without decryption. I’ve also worked on tracking cars, analyzing audio streams and reconstructing 3D objects for virtual reality. During my time at RIT, I’ve graded and tutored graduate students in the field of object oriented programming and advanced computer vision. Alongside my thesis, I’ve also worked as a Research Assistant at the Pervasive computing lab in RIT where I analyzed the properties of activation functions to construct deep neural networks that can process homomorphically encrypted data. Recently, I was awarded a scholarship for my research work by TSO Logic, an Amazon Web Services company.

I’m always working on something I find interesting – software is and can transform everything we interact with. My posts here talk about my projects, research and issues (with my solutions, of course) I’ve faced over time. Feel free to email me with any questions or suggestions!
